Important Reminders: Fun Lunch orders are due tomorrow, parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday evening and Friday morning. There is no school for students on Friday.

Swim Forms due Tomorrow!

Dear Grade 3's & Parents,

Swimming Lessons
Please remember to turn in your swim forms tomorrow with payment of $30 (cash). Lessons start next Wednesday, March 16, 2011.

*If you do not wish your child to participate, please send a note to school to confirm your decision.

Cough & Cold Season
Many of you are experiencing flu like symptoms - cold, coughs and fevers. Please stay home if you are unwell. Also, parents please remind your children to wash their hands and to dress for the weather.

Share your Stories!

Dear Grade 3's & Parents,

Please share with your parents your stories. They are not finished yet but it's always a good idea to have an adult help to edit your work to make sure it makes sense.

No spelling homework was assigned today as there were many students absent. You will get 8 words in total - 4 tomorrow and 4 on Wednesday. Your tests will be on Thursday.

Please sign up for parent teacher conferences if you have not done so already.

Swimming forms and payment (in cash) are due Wednesday.

Remember to read tonight - books are due Wednesday.

Also, share with your parents our visit from Ms. Jennifer Frank today from the CPO. Tell them all about the French Horn.

Report Cards Home Today

Dear Grade 3's & Parents,

Report Cards
Today your second report card was sent home. Please review them with your parents - discuss with them your successes and challenges for this reporting period. Also, spend time setting some goals for the remainder of the year.

Parent Teacher Conferences
If you have not already done so, please book an appointment to see me to discuss your child's growth and development. Times are still available for:

• Thursday, March 10, 2011 (4 pm - 8 pm)
• Friday, March 11, 2011 (8 am - 12 pm

Spelling
No homework was assigned for the weekend. You will receive homework starting again on Monday. You will get 10 words but your tests will be scheduled for Thursday as there is no school on Friday.

Miscellaneous Items
In your report card packets, two other items were included: (1) Fun Lunch forms for March and April and (2) Spring Concert information and ticket order form.

Reading
Although I have not reminded you lately in the blog to read on a daily basis, please continue doing so and also remember to record your growth on the reading calendar for March.

Important Upcoming Events

Dear Grade 3's & Parents,

Please share your experience of the 'Sounds of Nature' performance at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra with your parents.

Spelling Homework - You have all 10 words for your spelling test this week. Please spend time studying for your tests on Friday.

Swimming Forms - Today you received forms for the upcoming swimming program.  Please return forms as soon as possible with payment (cash only). Please fill in all sections of the forms. Special attention is required to the chart. *Parents - please indicate your child's swimming ability and confidence level.

I need parent volunteers to attend for the six days of swimming we have scheduled. Please let me know if you are interested in helping. You do not need to attend all six days. If you are free to volunteer for a one day, two days, three days, or all six days, your help would be greatly appreciated.

• We will be having afternoon and evening performances

• All families will be issued numbered tickets based on the performance they choose to attend. There are two options available for families. 

• Please choose one of the following options: 

• Option One:  If you attend a daytime performance, you will be eligible to receive 4 tickets.
• Option Two: If you attend an evening performance, you will be eligible to receive 2 tickets

• Tickets will be marked for either daytime or evening. They are not transferrable between performances.
