Final Fundraiser for the Year!
Dear Grade 3's & Parents,
Today we sent home the final fundraising project for the year. Annual magazine subscriptions can be purchased at discounted prices. Please see your child's brochure and school handout for details. All orders must be placed by Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
Spelling homework was assigned again today. In total, your child should have 5 spelling words to study for so far. They will have 10 by Friday's test.
As our secret project begins tomorrow, please think of a way that you think our 'special someone' at our school will remember you by - it has to fit into the palm of your hand. Please come ready tomorrow to start!
Have a great night.

Monday Agenda
Dear Grade 3's & Parents,
Please remember to read tonight. Your library books are due Wednesday. Getting into the habit of reading for enjoyment is one to develop while you are young. Also, please remember to take care of your books by keeping them in your plastic bag.
Math continues to be focused on problem solving. Although the work can be challenging, please remember that you are expected to try your best. If you need help, I would like you to have some work in scribblers before you come to see me.
Story writing is an ongoing area of focus. We have been reading storybooks that model the pattern of how many stories are written. Please keep this in mind as you write during class time.
Spelling homework was assigned today. Please complete your homework and bring your blue spelling books back every day.
Have a great night.

Welcome Back to School!
Dear Grade 3's & Parents,
It was great to see all of you back today in class.
We had a field trip to Cantos Music Foundation yesterday and a few of you did not attend as you were away. If you did attend but haven't already done so, share with your parents all of what you were able to see and hear. Of particular interest and fun was the theatre organ.
Today we started up spelling practice and words for a test on Friday, April 8, 2011. Students will have 8 words in total. Please complete homework and study well for your tests.
We read 'The Name of the Tree' by Celia Barker Lottridge & Ian Wallace today. Our focus will be looking at the 'underdog' in stories and how they overcome obstacles to find success.
Our ongoing focus in mathematics will be problem-solving. We are continuing our study of multiplication and moving towards basic division.
Thanks for a great day.
